From June 28 to July 3, the foosball world will be looking to Nantes. About 800 players from 45 countries will be in France to play for a total of 39 gold medals in various world championship disciplines. The DTFBtv team will broadcast the top matches from the final area via Twitch. And especially the team competitions will provide excitement - with KOMM KICKERN participation!
After 2019, the next World Cup will now take place with a one-year delay. In 2017, the World Cup was in Hamburg. And those who have experienced the spectacle at Kampnagel at Easter 17 or elsewhere know that the world championship in table soccer is THE top sporting event. The international federation ITSF seems to reach a next level: Alone 250 sport devices of the 5 official table models are built up and the tournament management is pleased now already, if the single disciplines with up to 150 participants ran well over the stage and the sporty dramaturgy culminates with the team competitions at the weekend.
Anyone interested in the World Championships can, of course, find out more via the event website or the ITSF Instagram channel. But most of all, those at home are longing for live pictures and this is where the DTFBtv team comes in: "Our streaming team is traveling to Nantes with 11 people to be able to present the highlights of the World Cup to many foosball enthusiasts. It will be great fun and at the same time a big challenge for us," says Julian Wortmann, who with his team took live streaming to the next level in foosball with the platform Twitch back in the Corona days.
One and a half years ago the journey started on Twitch, before that table soccer events were streamed mostly on Youtube or own platforms. Above all, the user interactions provide all participants with a new, valuable entertainment value: At the women's final of the German Championship in Münster in April, 10700 people actively watched the match simultaneously. Particularly pleasing was the fact that the chat was buzzing with questions from beginners about skills, playing mode and top players, as well as technical banter. For the World Cup, the DTFBtv cooperated with the production company Ecom Events: Around 20 people from the Czech Republic, USA, France, Germany then tackle together. Commentated in German, English and French, all disciplines and all tournament days will be broadcast from approx. 18-23 hrs. for free. KOMM KICKERN can only say: Join in!
And we also hope that we will see Maura from the KOMM KICKERN team on July 1 at the public viewing in the exhibition halls on the SKC or in the Kixx - and we are already keeping our fingers crossed for her. Together with Linh from Hamburg, they are part of the women's national team. And after they had to admit defeat to Team USA in the final in Spain in 2019, both clearly have one goal this year: gold.
Jan is a trained physicist and now project manager and tries to keep track of what's coming up, when and how. As far as foosball is concerned, organizing has become his passion in recent years, in Hamburg as Vice President of the TFVHH and throughout Germany as Vice President Education at the DTFB - and he also finds events with "world" in the name quite good...
